The following exchange is from a conference call that Herman Cain had with a group of conservative bloggers as recorded by The Daily Caller’s Matt Lewis. (Emphasis mine…)

What are your competitors, uh, your opponents going to find in your closet if anything?

They’re gonna find that I have a 20 handicap in golf, and it has never gotten lower. They’re gonna find that in my closet. Uh, other than them finding that I have a mediocre golf game, I play just well enough to be able to enjoy it…

But other than that, I can assure you, I have an original copy of my birth certificate. I don’t have any illegitimate babies. I don’t have any mistresses.

Ya know, you tick em off and I can tell you, I have…

(Q: Any arrests?)[Laughter in the background]

I have been… what?

(Q: Any arrest record?)

Zero! I have never been arrested. I’ve never gotten a DUI warant. Uh absolutely none of that. In fact, when the specter of me running for President started to become public the sherrif of the county that I live in has already gotten calls from the opposition research people trying to find some dirt on me.

They asked him, “Has he ever been arrested?” He said, “I don’t have to tell you that, but the answer is ‘no.’” They said , “Well has he ever had a DUI?” The sherrif said, “I don’t have to tell you that, but the answer is ‘no.’”

So, no, I don’t have any of those kind of skeletons in my closet and what I have told people, if they come up with something to try and damage my reputation, they will have made it up.

Well now. let’s see what all they ‘made up’ so far…

Late October we saw 4 separate claims of sexual harrassment or misconduct.

Cain’s response? [Paraphrased:] “Lies! Damn Lies! Slander! Libel!

November 28th 2011 (And this one’s a gem)

Herman Cain starts the morning telling world+dog “A woman is going to say I had a long running relationship with her. She’s lying!”

As promiesd, forth comes Ginger White with tales of a 13 year affair.

Cain’s lawyer said that White’s depiction of the relationship “appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults” and “not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public.”

Odd. I was pretty sure improper relationships was open game when it came to running for President. If that were not the case, why else would the Republican Party have been so willing to try and have Bill Clinton impeached for a single solitary sexual transgression?

Herman Cain wrote a book that came out in June of this year entitled “They Think You’re Stupid.” I’m going to guess that it would be more properly entitled “I Think You’re Stupid.” seeing how Mr Cain most assuredly must think we are all very. truly. stupid.

After very vociferously stating that the only skeleton in your closet is a bad golf handicap, managing to crush 4 distinct allegations of sexual misconduct with the power of the almighty attorney, you have the further gall to tell us that yes, you have been regularly paying the bills of another woman for 13 years, that you exchange textx with this woman all hours of the day and night and that your wife has never heard of this woman before, but it’s all just innocent kind-heartedness? Sorry, but I have to call bullshit on this one. And I further have to suggest that any person who thinks so little of the rest of America as to think we will just buy that crapload of lies not only does not deserve to helm this nation, but should be prevented from helming anything that impacts large numbers of people.

Herman Cain on the Sanctity of Traditional Marriage and Life July 13, 2011
I stand firmly with the FAMILY Leader and share their vision and commitment to supporting traditional values in American society. I am, and will continue to be, an ardent defender of traditional marriage and will work to preserve and protect the sanctity of human life, which I believe begins at conception.

Herman Cain November 28th, 2011: Herman Cain revealed Monday that an Atlanta-area woman is coming forward alleging an “extended” 13-year extramarital affair with the Republican presidential candidate.

Herman’s attorney Lin Wood stated in a statement to Fox  news that the accusations were regarding

“a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public”

and that Herman had no obligation  to discuss them publicly.

Lin further said

“Mr. Cain has alerted his wife to this new accusation and discussed it with her. He has no obligation to discuss these types of accusations publicly with the media and he will not do so even if his principled position is viewed unfavorably by members of the media.”

geez. seems that this would be a rather direct reflection on Herman’s  ”Family Values” pledge…

What the hell???….. Quote from Mr. Cain “My mind immediately started thinking, wait a minute, maybe his religious persuasion is different than mine!”. Are you cognizant that we live in a country of religious freedom? Do you realize that your next Jewish doctor won’t be Christian? are you just a pure jackass or are you a religious bigot?

At what point do people learn that web pages are cached, and taking one down doesn’t mean no one can see what it used to say?  Full list of Board of Directors, all regions and honorary after the break.

So. In wake of Hermain Cain hiring a defamation lawyer, Lin Wood, to protect him from libel (During a political campaign? really?) I thought we’d take a quick look at his score from PolitiFact.com

I wonder if he’ll bring his lawyer to future debates to help protect his sensitive nature from incorrect statement from his opponents.

Bertrand Russel:
“I should say love is wise, hatred is foolish. In this world which is getting more closely and closely interconnected we have to learn to tolerate each other, we have to learn to put up with the fact that some people say things that we don’t like. We can only live together in that way and if we are to live together and not die together we must learn a kind of charity and a kind of tolerance which is absolutely vital to the continuation of human life on this planet.”

The White House, in the spirit of transpaency that it has expressed in policy and largely in practice, released a photo from within the situation room at the white house during the raid to kill Usama bin Laden. A quick evaluation of the photos reveals a fair amount of data. The photo was left largely untouched, with only a single document, that appears to possibbly be a high-resolution image of a structure, possibly the compount taken at a rather steep angle, likely by a recon drone, being digitally redacted. The likely reason is to not make public the resolution available when using drone surveillance. Some of the interesting items available through the photo are:

the laptops used at the white house are HP Elite Mobile Workstations with Centrino 2 processors (The red Intel badges tell us this).

they use fingerprint biometrics and have limited-field-of-vision screens to prevent shoulder surfing.

they have their security clearance levelseasily identifiable thanks to the massive color coded stickers on the lids

Hillary Clinton (HRC) is holding a binder that is labeled: “Top Secret – Codeword – NoForn” as well as “For Use in White House Situation Room Only”

The visible areal shot under the redacted document in front of HRC was generated by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as determined by working backwards from their unit badge seen in the top-left corner of the document and confirmed by their posting about it on their page, matches the area listed on Google maps as the compound, which BTW is different than the location given initially on the intertubes.

the reflection in the glasses of the 4-star general standing to the left of Pres. Obama seems to indicate that the feed being watched was probably from a mobile camera, as a over-head shot would likely have been darker and used night-vision while the reflected image clearly is reasonably well lit.

And before anyone questions the image, here’s the info from the EXIF of that dicument

As announced by President Barack Obama, and pre-emptively announced by Donald Rumsfeld via twitter, and Majority leader Eric Cantor, U.S. Forces have killed Usama bin Laden (UBL) at a stronghold in upper-scale neighborhood of Abbottobad, Pakistan just over 1000 yards away from the Pakistan Military Academy, a training ground for Pakistan Military Officers analagous to West point here in America. The location of UBL’s hideout manages to raise more questions than it answers as it seems a bit far fetched that UBL would be able to hid out in such a dangerous locale so close to a major Pakistani military location or that with that type of proximity he were not receiving tacit protection from the Pakistani government. In either case, I would guess that this was the reason Pakistan was not informed prior to the launch of the assault. So…takeaways.

Dear Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari:

In this day of technology, when we know that virtually any electronic data is subject to eavesdropping, warrant-less as well as warranted collection, and just plain exposure through lost or stolen devices, just who is stupid enough to email THEMSELVES their terrorist plans? I would have to guess that if you don’t know how to use that cool little app called a memory, then maybe terrorism isn’t the field for you. Of course, considering the possible harm you could have done had you not alerted every federal office this side of Canada, we’re surprisingly glad that you, the 21st century terrorist is still so utterly technologically clueless. Thanks again for being a utter moron, though I hope your stupidity doesn’t reflect poorly on the American Educational Institutes responsible for your intellectual formation.

Facebook Mail. the email system that could have been. or: Mail FAIL:
So… Facebook has launched their “gmail killer” in that they are killing the concept of email as a whole. Facebook’s argment is that people have moved beyone email, and would rather just have running conversations with people and businesses. As opposed to me sending Jim an email about watching the game at the bar in one emal and one thread, and sending him a work spreadsheet and discussing work in another thread, both converstions would take place in the same thread, and the two worlds would mix smoothly. For myself, I would prefer threads. I would prefer to keep work separate from after-hours. I don’t want those two conversations to mix. Additionally, I sort of prefer to filter and set filtering rules to sort my emails in to relevant folders based on email content and subject, not by identity. also, ANYONE who is not on facebook will by default automatically go into my “other” folder, defeating the purpose of it if I have to constantly check it. Sorry, Mark I’m not sure you can shine this turd enough to make it worth it. Funnily enough, this “wonderful” email system is great enough for us the users, but Facebook employees will actually be switching to fb.com accounts, still running on MS Exchange. Meaning that the system with the single conversations that works for us slobs won’t work for them.
