Apparently Alaska is run by the Palin Children. Or at least this is the argument that Sarah Palin is putting forth to explain why her children accompanied her on a total of at least 88 flights since becoming Governor in December of ’06. Normally politicians have to pay for their children to accompany them, but in Sarah Palin’s case, she simply stated on the various expense reports that the children were traveling on official business. In many cases apparently, the organizers of the various events were not even aware that the children would be coming until Palin showed up with the kids in tow. So, that means that the ‘Reformer’  who has spent $21,012 of Alaska’s money to ferry her children around with her is working to convince America that this is the type of ‘Reform’ she plans to bring to Washington, namely that it’s not wrong if it’s of a benefit to her.

That’s the assessment of a top McCain insider as to the states of Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado. Colorado was considered at one point a must-win state, but recent polling suggests that it will go for Obama and as a result, the McCain camp seems to be shifting to Pennsylvania, which hasn’t gone for a Republican presidential candidate in 20 years. Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign manager still believes that Colorado will break for McCain in the end but he is clearly in the minority, and his position there only goes to further highlight the fractured nature of the McCain campaign machine.

Dear Friend,

The choice America will face on November 4,h is very clear.

It will be a choice between one of most liberal governments in modern history, or a government dedicated to upholding long-held conservative principles of limited government, strong national defense and individual freedom.

So a canvasser goes to a woman’s door in Washington, Pennsylvania. Knocks. Woman answers. Knocker asks who she’s planning to vote for. She isn’t sure, has to ask her husband who she’s voting for. Husband is off in another room watching some game. Canvasser hears him yell back, “We’re votin’ for the n***er!”

Woman turns back to canvasser, and says brightly and matter of factly: “We’re voting for the n***er.”

Here are a few pictures I took at the Obama rally in Kansas City this Saturday at the Liberty Memorial. Barack Obama was greeted by a croud of 75,000 people, when the original projection was about 20,000. As stunning as those numbers are, they pale in comparison to the crowd who came to see him in St Louis, which numbered about 100,000. Now with those kinds of numbers, on short-notice events, it’s kind of hard to tell me that those numbers will not be reflected come Election day. I just checked with a source, and John McCain, who is scheduled to speak today in Belton Blue Sprigs, MO in about 3 hours, to a ticket-only croud of 5,000 still has tickes available. They are basically trying to fill seats at this point. Even when Michelle Obama came to speak, her event was crowded to capacity 2 hourse before she spoke, with myself being in line a full 4 hourse before the event. Barack’s event was scheduled to happen at 6pm, with the gates originally scheduled to open at 4pm, but I was there and a good ways back in the line at 11:30 am, and due to the length of the lines, averaging 5 across, running back at least a mile all the way down the street, around the corner and to Crown Center, they opened the gates at 3:00 pm. Inevitability has an inertia that you can feel in the air. Democrats WANT Obama while Republicans ACCEPT McCain.

There’s a basic flaw in the argument that McCain has made regarding Joe The Plumber. that flaw is simply:
1.) Joe The Plumber owes $1,200 in back taxes.
2.) Joe The Plumber isn’t licensed.
3.) Joe The Plumber beleves that he should not be asked to be his brother’s keeper.

That means that he certainly isn’t contributing his own fair share to the government even now, wouldn’t that put him in the ranks of the 40% Sarah Palin says are taking advantage of the system?  (We know she was referring to the minorities and others she believes are lazy, but in all honesty reflects far more of the “Joe The Plumber” citizens who are making decent money but just choose to keep it by hook or crook.) and it means that he isn’t shy about walking around any current regulatory system, the same attitude in the banking sector that destroyed out economy.
In this respect, “Joe The Plumber” is a perfect epitome of the classic “Republican”. find any loophole, or barring that, just plain ignore the rules to keep your money for yourself, then complain that those who would normally be assisted by you paying your fair share should just rely on their communities (excluding him of course) for help.
Rules are made for lesser men than himself. He is not a law breaker therefore he shouldn’t have to follow the same rules as lesser people.
So now the arguement is, we should listen to Joe The Plumber, instead of Colin Powell because, while Colin Powell pays his taxes, and follows all the rules and laws of society, Joe The Plumber, with his tax evading nature, and regulation ignoring ways has a clearly better informed opinion when it comes to economic issues.

Almost as bad as communism, right up there with fascism, Barack is being accused of socialism, even though his policies are nowhere near that. He proposes exactly what the republicans have for years, personal responsibility, trickle down (just not anywhere near as far with anywhere near as tiny a eventual trickle), social responsibility of charty. work ethic, everything that Republicans usually beg for. Wow, what a difference a economic plan makes.

With the great consideration and deliberation he is so well known for, former Secretary of state, and General Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama on ‘Meet The Press’ giving a studied point-for-point rebuttal of virtually every single point made by McCain’s camp against Obama. Using the truly strong example of the US soldier who died in Iraq, whose mother was shown at his grave in Arlington, weeping at his headstone that featured the star and crescent of his muslim faith. A strong reminder that religion does not define a person’s patriotism, and is shameful to use as a cudgel.
Now the dream move for Barack would be for him to offer the Secretary Of State position back to Colin Powell. Boy with Republican friends like these, McCain sure doesn’t need any enemies.

Sarah Palin recently said at a fundraiser in North Carolina that a bright note for her was visiting “pro-America” areas of the country.  Hmm. that leaves me to assume there are anti-America areas of the country.. Any chance she’s willing to shed some light on where these anti-American people are? Apparently North Carolina is safely pro-America as that was where she made the astounding stupid comment…

Update:

On Friday, Palin clarified her comments.

“It’s all
pro-America. I was just reinforcing the fact that there, where I was,
there’s good patriotic people there in these rallies, so excited about
positive change and reform of government that’s coming that they are so
appreciative of hearing our message, hearing our plan. Not any one area
of America is more pro-America patriotically than others,” she said.

So, either you’re saying that there happen to be people with are just as pro-america but the “good” type of patriotic wherever you choose to go, or you are saying in effect, you prefer to write on the white part of a white sheet of paper. In effect saying something confusing while saying absolutely nothing.
